Synopsis of the Play Fast, funny, and emotionally powerful, She Kills Monsters is an epic quest packed with monsters, magic, 90s nostalgia, and unexpected heart.
When Agnes Evans loses her teenage sister Tilly, she thinks she's grieving someone she never truly understood. But when she discovers Tilly's homemade Dungeons & Dragons campaign, Agnes rolls the dice and is hurled into a turbo-charged fantasy realm of demon queens, battle-hardened elves, homicidal fairies, cheerleader succubi, and nonstop combat.
Beneath the sword fights and spell-slinging is something real: grief, first love, identity, and the parts of ourselves we're brave enough (or terrified enough) to claim. As Agnes battles through Tilly's imaginary world, she uncovers the sister she never really knew and the hero she might become.
About the Characters: Casting eleven (11) adults
AGNES EVANS Age: Mid to late 20s Presenting: Female Ethnicity: Any Line Load: Heavy Stage Time: Almost always on stage Character: Smart, grounded, slightly guarded. The "normal" sister who never quite understood Tilly until she steps into her world. Agnes carries the emotional spine of the play: dry humor, vulnerability, grief, and a slow-burn transformation into an unexpected hero. A journey role with range from biting sarcasm to shattering honesty.
NOTE: Actor must be comfortable with or able to learn stage combat and dance.
LILITH MORNINGSTAR Age: Early 20s Presenting: Female Ethnicity: Any Line Load: Major Supporting Stage Time: Major Supporting Characteristics: Demon queen. Seductive, dangerous, theatrical. Big villain energy with biting humor. Must relish heightened language and larger-than-life presence. Deliciously wicked. Sometimes eats her enemies.
NOTE: Actor must be comfortable with light same-sex intimacy and comfortable with or able to learn stage combat and dance.
KALIOPE DARKWALKER Age: Early 20s Presenting: Female Ethnicity: Any Line Load: Major Supporting Stage Time: Major Supporting Characteristics: An unapologetic, battle-hardened, leather-clad elven warrior. Deadly, bold, magnetic with high physicality, swagger, and fearless confidence. Owns every room (and battlefield). A dream role for someone ready to command the stage.
NOTE: Actor must be comfortable with or able to learn stage combat and dance.
CHUCK (and others) Age: Early 20s Presenting: Male Ethnicity: Any Line Load: Major Supporting Stage Time: Major Supporting Characteristics: Teen dungeon master. Fast-talking, confident, slightly chaotic guide through the campaign. Switches between awkward high schooler and commanding narrator of epic doom. Big personality. Quick timing. Comic gold with surprising depth.

VERA (and others) Age: Late 20s to mid-40s Presenting: Female Ethnicity: Any Line Load: Major Supporting Stage Time: Major Supporting Characteristics: The world's most catastrophically unhelpful high school counselor. MILES (and others) Age: Mid to late 20s Presenting: Male Ethnicity: Any Line Load: Supporting Stage Time: Supporting Characteristics: Agnes' well-meaning fiance.
