Roles:

Eric Sheridan: 30s-40s (Supporting) This inept police officer is a bookish, even-tempered guy who finds himself completely out of his element when called upon to express his feelings for an attractive woman, lie to his boss, disguise himself as someone else, and stand up to an armed gangster. He has to handle several confrontations without his trousers!

Billie Dwyer: 20s-30s (Supporting). She is an inept but well-meaning police officer (Eric's partner) who is excitable and non-threatening. She seems to lack every skill necessary for police work but is dedicated in her effort to succeed. She often speaks before she thinks. Billie is optimistic that they are going to “catch the bad guys” in spite of her inability to use a gun, handcuffs, or subdue a suspect with the “Tallahassee flip.”

Karen Brown: 20s-30s (Supporting). This attractive accountant has always taken pride in her professionalism – until this morning, when she cannot control her sexual attraction to Officer Sheridan. Her “danger phrase” in the sting is, “It’s getting hot in here.” When the undercover cops do not respond because the volume is turned off on the hidden monitor, she takes off her blouse to catch their attention and has to use her wiles until they respond to her plight.

Agent Frank: 30s-50s (Supporting) Frank is the head of town hall security. We quickly learn that he is the in the wrong profession, as his confident, no-nonsense exterior (think secret service or FBI) gives way to fear at the first moment of crisis.

Todd: (Supporting) Todd is a professional hit man with a twist. He takes pride in his sense of professionalism. He has a Scottish accent that gets too thick to understand when he gets angry. He wears a traditional kilt and plays the bagpipes before every hit.

Mayor Meekly: 50s-60s (Supporting) A mild-mannered man who is very sweet and gentle. Seems naïve but sincere and is surprisingly slow to understand what is happening around him.

Mary Meekly: 50s-60s (Supporting) The Mayor's wife. She is small in stature, very sweet and concerned about her husband. She seems, in every way, to be the perfect match for her husband.

NOTE: This is community theatre and everyone involved with the show is a volunteer.

Cast Requirements:
3 females, 4 males
Plot Synopsis:
Two cops. Three crooks. Eight doors. Go. In a cheap motel room, an embezzling mayor is supposed to meet with his female accountant while in the next room, two undercover cops wait to catch the meeting on videotape. But there’s some confusion as to who’s in which room, who’s being videotaped, who’s taken the money, who’s hired a hit man, and why the accountant keeps taking off her clothes. The plot weaves you through mix-ups and mayhem you won’t believe.
