Diana – 27 Jamie’s bride-to-be; she is beautiful, intelligent, sweet-natured.
Geoff – Jamie’s best man, a friend from childhood, attractive
Tom – 30ish, Holly’s new boyfriend, good man, handsome
The time is the present. The setting is the main living room of a wealthy home on the outskirts of London. Superb, if showy taste, with comfortable and expensive furnishings.
Plot Synopsis:
Diana has it all. Jamie is the much envied man to whom she is betrothed. Tom is the attractive boyfriend of Jamie’s sister. Geoff is the oldest friend who is to be best man. Diana’s insurmountable problem is that, during the course of the longest weekend of her life, she finds herself having promised marriage to all three. How can she decide? What matters most – familiarity, suitability, sexual passion? Ann, the matriarch finds herself having to act as negotiator, counsellor, traffic controller, legal advisor, judge, jury and fortune teller to an entire household of distraught people. And it isn’t discovered until the final curtain who it is that Diana chooses.
